Karena itu, menurutnya, konsep penanganan perlu dikembangkan lebih jauh. Caranya, petugas melakukan pemberantasan ke akarnya terlebih dahulu. Yaitu merazia penyedia, distributor, serta memperkuat perbatasan-perbatasan yang ada. Sehingga pasokan dari luar negeri dapat ditekan.

“Jadi pemberantasannya harus ke akar-akarnya. Kami sudah koordinasi dengan BNN Provinsi, untuk sering turun ke lapangan melakukan tes urine. Terutama untuk pegawai Pemda DKI Jakarta,” ujar Djarot, Jumat (27/5).

Menurut mantan Wali Kota Blitar ini, seluruh pegawai pemda yang ada akan menjalani test urine. Baik itu PNS, Pegawai Penanganan Prasarana dan Sarana Umum (PPSU) dan Pegawai Harian Lepas (PHL) yang ada. Nantinya kalau ketahuan menggunakan narkoba, akan langsung dipecat.

“Total PNS dan PPSU di Pemprov DKI berjumlah seratus ribu. Banyak sekali. Makanya akan kami petakan terlebih dahulu. Biar bisa dalam sehari itu memeriksa seribu orang,” ujar Djarot.

And if they are able to produce it for home use, then they will be thinking of producing it in quantity for sale. Producing sea salt is quite easily done especially if you live along a sea coast where there is plenty of salt water, your free and only raw material. There are two ways to do this: First, you can crystallize out the salt by bringing sea water close to freezing point. Second, you can evaporate sea water by heating and your salt will be left behind. Let us now discuss the two methods one after the other.

Any type of salt in a fixed amount of water will dissolve so much at a particular temperature. Below this temperature some salt will leave the solution. We say that this amount of salt have been crystallized out by reducing the temperature of the salt solution. So place an open container of some sea water in a freezer. Monitor the temperature frequently with an ordinary thermometer and remove the container from the freezer just below zero point when water turns to ice. About 3ºC will be fine. At this point some salt will crystallize out. Pour it into a filter and dry your salt. Repeat the process till you have enough salt. Note that you can use more than one container at the same time or use a bigger one. This method works all right but it is slow, especially if you plan to produce in commercial quantity.

Try burning sea water to get the salt fast. Make a furnace by building a small 3-sided tent, with mud, cement blocks or brick wall, about two metres wide and your height or slightly shorter. Roof it with rough surfaced aluminum flat or roofing sheet. The roof is not flat but almost. A 20º slope will be fine. Provide a gutter at the low end of the roof. You will fire from the open end and work from the opposite side where the roof is sloping. Make a fire under and clean the roof top free of dirt and grease. Heat it until a drop of sea water boils and disappears fast, leaving some salt.

Use a hose from a control tap where you keep your sea water. Adjust the tap so that only small amount of water is coming out. Now drop the water on the hot pan slowly from top left to right and back till you reach the bottom. Dry the gutter and scrape up your salt first in here and then to a clean container. Actually you can just hold the aluminum pan with four supports. But the mud, cement or brick wall will make it more efficient because all the heat will be concentrated on the pan. Besides your salt will be cleaner because wind will not blow dirt from the fire into it.

If you decide to use this method, then it is clear you intend to make it a business. It should be a profitable business because your only raw material is inexhaustible and free. Not only that, this method you have chosen is fast and very efficient. Please let good hygiene be your most important operational rule. Think safety too. Whichever type of alcohol you consume, they all cause burns, not literally but they give a burning sensation. In extreme cases like dry shots, you might feel like your mouth and the entire throat are being scalded. The reason why alcohol burns you when you drink it is because it messes with the heat receptors found in the mouth, which normally react to heat from boiling water and/or fire.

These cells, known as VR1 receptors, usually react when exposed to heat by shooting up signals that there is something to the brain. You eventually feel the nerve as a burning sensation and sometimes pain. This is basically the same sensation that you experience after consuming some spicy sauce.

So now, what is the actual reason why alcohol burns you when you drink it? Let us try to answer this. Alcohol lowers the threshold of temperature that the receptors need to send the signal, which is normally 42 degrees to 32 degrees.Normal body temperature is around 37 degrees. This leaves you feeling like the alcohol is actually burning you. Even if the alcohol is chilled, it will still cause a sting on cuts. This explains why water causes no stings on a cut since there is no reaction involved.

Alcohol drains water from the skin cells causing them to dry out and they indicate the stress as a burning sensation. Once you take alcohol, it makes you feel warm because when consumed, it acts as a drug and causes the blood vessels to expand. This causes more blood to flow to the skin, feet and hands and leave you with a warm sensation. The inflammation of the cells generates heat, which is the source of the burning and stinging sensation and the fact that the threshold of the receptors has been lowered too much leads to pain.

However, this feeling of warmth does not mean you really are warm! Blood act as a medium for transferring heat, and if it is at the body surface, then this means that you are losing heat. It is therefore very risky for someone suffering from hypothermia to take alcohol. However, if you are just cold and in a warm place, taking shots of spirit to keep you warm and make you comfortable does not do you harm.

Exposing these receptors to alcohol is basically the same as applying an antiseptic on a cut. There are people who believe that alcohol-based disinfectants are the best for applying to a cut. This could never be more wrong! What these chemicals actually do is that they kill all cells, including the good healthy ones. Don't you think that this is the reason why you feel that burning pain? Therefore, as much as they clear off the bad bacteria, they also slow down the whole process of healing. If you want the best and sure most healing process, do yourself a favor and leave antiseptics out of the question. Just run some clean, cold water over the wound. By so doing, you get to clean the wound without killing any healthy cells.

When I was setting my goals for this year, my main theme was around having fun. This is because I realised that even though I love my work, I wasn't having enough down time, relaxation and fun. This is so important because if we're not having fun then what is the point.

This definitely transfers over to eating. Being on a diet is not fun. Depriving and restricting yourself is not fun. Feeling guilty around food is not fun. However it is fun to be in control of how you are eating in a positive way. What I mean by that is that when you eat naturally or mindfully you are listening to your body's natural instincts. Therefore when your body tells you its hungry you eat. You eat exactly what you feel like, you stop when you've had enough and then you move onto something else, preferably something that is FUN! You are totally in control, but you are not depriving or restricting yourself.

What you are doing is empowering yourself to choose exactly what is right for you at that time. In some instances it will be something healthy, in others it won't. I get just as much pleasure out of a beautiful piece of pineapple as I do a piece of chocolate, but only if I decide I want the pineapple at that time. If someone told me I had to eat the pineapple instead of the chocolate then I would not enjoy it. But if I'm allowed to make that choice for myself more often than not I'd probably choose the pineapple.

I eat approximately 80% healthy food and 20% not and to me that is a perfect balance. Physically, I feel great because I eat predominantly healthy food. But emotionally I feel great too, because I am not depriving myself of my favourite foods. This means I do not crave them and therefore never binge on them.

A number of my clients haven't enjoyed their food for several years. This is often because they were always on some sort of diet or constantly worried about their weight or body image. Once they know that they can eat whatever they want whenever they are hungry, the enjoyment starts to come back, because they can now choose what they want. They start to eat food they haven't allowed themselves to have, often for years and eating becomes a joy again instead of a worry. Also, because they are mindful as they eat, they don't overindulge or constantly crave the unhealthy options.

Therefore I encourage you to start to having fun with your food. I remember as a child with a mallow puff, I would break it over my head, pick the chocolate off, nibble the biscuit and suck the marshmallow. I loved it and I never had more than one because I got so much enjoyment out of it I was easily satisfied. If you inhale your food you won't enjoy it and you won't get satisfaction because you are not mindful or focused while you are eating it.

Bring the fun back by listening to and trusting your body. Eat for nourishment and not for comfort. Allow yourself to enjoy your favourite food without guilt and overindulging. Then you will find that eating will be a joy and not a burden.

With these options, it shouldn't be so hard to live better. The important thing is to start living it and see where it takes you. Make sure that you can do these things and be able to really do so!
